Maine Coast Fishermen’s Association (MCFA) is a nonprofit founded by fishermen for fishermen. We strive to ensure that fishermen have the community infrastructure and environmental resources to maintain Maine's coastal cultural identity and sustain vibrant working waterfronts for this and future generations of Maine fishermen.
Mary Hudson was born and raised in Maine and has a deep passion for her home state, the outdoors, and fishing communities. She is Director of Fisheries Programs at MCFA, manager of the Maine Coast Community Groundfish Sector, and is a seller representative at the Portland Fish Exchange. Her work supports fishing communities through policy, seafood sales and marketing, and business management. She also runs MCFA’s Fishermen Feeding Mainers program which provides direct financial relief to fishermen by purchasing fish when market prices are low and helping them supply food banks, schools, and families in need with healthy Maine seafood meals.
MCFA is investigating potential international markets for sand dabs and grey sole.
